Children's Tutoring ResponsibilitiesMost schools have specific tutoring responsibilities for the teachers. This might include working with specific grade levels, providing additional instruction or assisting in the learning process by suggesting appropriate ways to complete a task. To begin a tutoring relationship, the teacher should work with the parent to outline responsibilities and boundaries before anything else.The most important part of a lesson is usually the lessons for different parts of the subject. The teacher's job is to find students to go over those areas. A good way to begin is to ask for help from parents who know the student well. Teachers who do not meet with parents frequently are at a disadvantage when it comes to getting an 'up-to-date' image of the student.It is also helpful to have constant communication with the parent. These individuals should be encouraged to give their input and suggestions as the teacher starts to meet with students and look at what infor mation will need to be provided to students. Schools often do not have a list of how the activities will be reviewed. The teacher must do this on their own or rely on the advice of one of the students or parents.Each individual needs to feel that the teacher is concerned about what is going on with them. They can have their own ideas about how they can help and this is a great time to share that. Both sides need to be able to communicate. Some teachers are very good at taking feedback and are committed to keeping the best interests of the students in mind. Others need some time to develop an effective understanding with the student.While this level of involvement is nice, the parent's role is that of being there for the student. They can help a student to cope and to deal with difficult situations when the student needs them. Sometimes students feel that the parent is only there for their child's comfort. The coach has to be thereto keep the student in the present and help them to l earn in an atmosphere that can help them cope with difficult situations.Some students are afraid to express any problems that they may be having with the classroom environment. Others may feel that they are not heard and that they are not receiving the help that they need. This is the reason why some parents seem reluctant to invest in a coach for their child. When a parent does invest in a coach, it is usually a good one that is used to a professional atmosphere and knows how to respond to student needs.The tutor will want to find a quiet space to meet with the student and to discuss their progress. This is because some students cannot handle classroom noise and others do not feel comfortable. It is important that the tutor has a professional set up.As long as the parent is there for the student when the tutor meets with the student, the parent is doing all that they can do. This is what is most important and if the coach is on time, provides constructive feedback and can keep the student focused on the task at hand, the parent is doing their part to ensure that the student has the best possible tutoring experience.
